The Building Fund is used to expand our current facilities.

At the corner of Maple Avenue and West Third Street is Heritage Hall, a museum operated by the Lakeside Heritage Society (LHS) in a building owned by the Lakeside Association.

In 1990, LHS purchased the 1926 one-and-a-half story cottage located directly behind the Museum at 324 West Third Street.  This cottage has served as the Archives Center for 25 years allowing access to materials for personal use and academic research.  Today, however, the Archives Center is out of storage space and the building has a number of significant environmental issues requiring either major renovation or an entire replacement.

After looking at alternatives, a new Archives Center is being proposed at its present location. A capital campaign of $750,000 is ongoing to build an environmentally safe, fire-resistant building to house the priceless documents and historic memorabilia for which we are privileged to care.  It will also provide state-of-the-art research space for the entire Peninsula.
