Lakeside Heritage Society
By Linda Huber, LHS Member
The Lakeside Heritage Society is pleased to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from the Ohio History Fund for exterior preservation repairs to the Heritage Hall Museum. Lakeside was one of fourteen grant recipients announced at the 2016 Statehood Day celebration at the capital in Columbus on Tuesday, March 1. Carol Morgan and Gretchen Curtis accepted the award on behalf of the Society.
The Ohio History Fund is a competitive matching grant program that is one of four “tax check-off” funds found on Ohio’s income tax form and is funded entirely through Ohio taxpayers’ voluntary contributions. Created by the State Legislature and signed into law in 2011, the History Funds supports the preservation and sharing of Ohio’s heritage by funding local, regional and statewide projects and events related to the broad sweep of the State’s history. Look for “Ohio History Fund” on your Ohio tax return and designate a dollar amount. Your tax-deductible donation goes to support history projects in local Ohio communities. For more information about the Ohio History Fund visit the Ohio History Connection website at www.ohiohistory.org.
Recognizing there are many great history projects deserving of support, Lakeside Heritage Society is indeed honored to have been awarded this grant.
